“Chimes’ ‘Hatzori’ Extended School-Day Care Center, Tel Aviv”
Manager: Merav Shapira
Chimes Israel operates the extended school-day care center, “Hatzori”, in the North Tel Aviv neighborhood, Azorei Chen. Located in the “Hatzori” special education school, the center serves the students of the school, offering them a safe and secure feeling in a familiar environment.
The “Hatzori” Extended School-Day Care Center integrates children and youth, between the ages of 6 to 21, with moderate to moderate/low intellectual developmental disabilities into its program. Many of the children have additional difficulties such as ADHD, communications disorders, varied levels of autism, challenging behavioral disorders, etc.
The children at the “Hatzori” Center are divided into groups according to their ages and level of functioning as well as the individual needs of each child. Each group is cared for by a permanent team with a set daily agenda tailored to the needs of the children.
The “Hatzori” Center employs professional counselors and experts who are responsible for the individualized therapy programs and the various group activities. There are a number of group activities such as music and drama, storytelling, movement therapy, medical clowning and animal therapy. Private classes in art, natural arts and computers are specifically adapted to the needs of the individual children. In addition to these therapies and groups, the counselors and many volunteers who are integrated into the classes and activities at the Center, guide the children in many additional creative activities.
A light snack is served to the children in the afternoons during the school year. During the summer and holidays they receive warm meals at the center.
In the course of the year, many events are held in conjunction with volunteers from the community, employees from Bank HaPoalim, business firms, scholarship students and groups of soldiers.
Sundays through Thursdays between 14:15 to 18:00.
