Chimes’ Sheltered Workshop, Ariel
Manager: Sophie Pasuk
Chimes’ Sheltered Workshop in Ariel was founded in 1993 as an initiative of the municipality of Ariel. The place began to operate with six people with various disabilities in a temporary building using tools which were brought from home, and old, used school tables and chairs.
In 2006, Chimes Israel won the tender to operate the factory and since then, the rehabilitation facility has undergone many upheavals.
Today, there are approximately 20 people with various disabilities under the auspices of the Rehabilitation Services of the Ministry of Welfare and Social Services, who work in the workshop. They have also opened a second shift offering employment to senior citizens.
In this sheltered workshop in Ariel, the clients work in three main areas of employment:
- Wiring and Electronics: Jobs which require skills in the use of mechanical equipment at various levels accompanied by a quality inspector for an electronics contractor.
- Various packaging jobs.
- Various assembly work.
The factory works according to the International ISO 9001 standard in the area of production.
