Chimes Sheltered Workshop and Day Care Center, Tayibe

Chimes Israel has been operating the Tayibe Sheltered Workshop since 1998 at the request of the municipality of Tayibe. The Workshop is located in the business district of Tayibe and serves as the only rehabilitation employment program for the Arab community in the “Triangle” region (Tayibe, Tira, Qalansawe, Kafr Qasem, Kfar Bara and Jaljuliya).
The center provides employment services and nursing care for approximately 70 people (aged 21 and over) with mild to moderate developmental and intellectual disabilities.
The center offers two main services:
- The Sheltered Workshop works to develop and promote vocational skills among adults with special needs with the ultimate goal of integration in the normative workplace. The clients work in various manufacturing positions, including packaging, weighing, gluing, sorting, etc.
- The daycare center teaches self-help and daily living skills especially designed for adults with special needs by helping them reach their maximum potential for independence and a good quality of life. Each client has an individual rehabilitation and treatment plan with achievable and measurable objectives. Assessment of their individual progress are reviewed and shared between the staff, the clients and their families.
The Sheltered Workshop also offers educational and social enrichment activities, including sports, art, music, parties and events to mark major holidays and special days, annual sightseeing trips and organized vacations.
The team at Chimes’ Sheltered Workshop and Day Care Center in Tayibe, includes staff who work in various fields, including: Occupational therapists, para-medical professionals, various therapists, etc.
Sundays through Thursdays from 7:30-15:30.
