Special Education Kindergartens and School
In 2009, the Municipality of Modi’in approached Chimes Israel for the purpose of operating a special education kindergarten for the children who completed the Chimes’ rehabilitation day care center in Modi’in. The goal was to provide continuity in their treatments and therapies and to prevent the need to transport the children to programs outside the city of Modi’in.
In 2011, the municipality of Modi’in approached Chimes Israel requesting that Chimes open classrooms (on a temporary basis) for the “graduates” of the Amuta’s kindergarten, to allow continuity in their treatment and to give the municipality the opportunity to organize itself to build a special education school in Modi’in.
Chimes Israel currently operates an educational continuum for children with intellectual disabilities. Thus, children who are residents of Modi’in and its neighboring communities, continue to receive educational rehabilitative therapy in the frameworks of kindergarten and special education school classes in collaboration with the Municipality of Modi’in and the Ministry of Education.
For the children in these educational programs, Chimes Israel operates full-day care which offers therapy, treatments, leisure activities and enrichment classes until 18:00 daily. Operating these programs for a full day helps the families whose children are receiving intensive treatments to lead normal lives, as much as possible.
