The Shiluv program- Supported Employment for Individuals with Mental Illness

Chimes’ Supported Employment program operates nationwide, under the name “Shiluv”, providing, rehabilitation, implementation, guidance and supervised employment. This program integrates its clients mental illnesses, to penetrate the normative job market in part-time and full-time positions.
The program is for individuals who have been found eligible by the Ministry of Health’s Committee for Rehabilitation Resources and for Supported Employment or those who have been determined eligible by the Rehabilitation Services of the Welfare Department.
The age, level of education, abilities and skills of the clients are diverse. Because of this, and due to the nature of this rehabilitation program, each geographic area has a rehabilitation specialist assigned to help provide support and accompaniment throughout the process. The process may include learning a specific kind of job, providing basic employment skills, travel training and even support and guidance to the employers.
They types of jobs are varied and adapted to the special needs, skills and abilities of the clients, such as: banking, offices of architects, accountants, lawyers, universities, supermarkets, warehouses, restaurants, hotels and more. There is employee-employer relationship between the clients and the employers, including social benefits.
