Manager: Maxim Tapiro
Chimes Israel operates Supported Employment programs, a link on the continuum of Employment Services operated by the Amuta. The Supported Employment program provides participants with individually supported employment opportunities, training, placement, guidance and ongoing follow-up for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in factories, private business establishments and government offices in individual or group placement. Currently, the program includes approximately 70 placements in places of employment in Tel Aviv, Kfar Saba, Rishon LeZion and Rosh Ha’ayin in varied fields, such as: Packaging, caring for the elderly, mailings, cafes and the like. The program is customized for each person individually, according to their personal capabilities and skills.
Two years ago, Chimes Israel initiated a vocational training program. This program enables these adults to receive a period of study and vocational training experience in the community before placement in employment. Currently, Chimes Israel operates an vocational training project at Ichilov Medical Center which enables people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to integrate into a wide variety of employment opportunities in the hospital in preparation for employment in the normative job market.
Supported Employment services are provided by placement counselors who accompany the clients on a daily basis with an alternating frequency, according to the needs of the clients and the steps they are going through in the occupational rehabilitation process.
