Chimes Israel recognizes the importance of integrating volunteers into its programs on behalf of people with special needs. The contribution of volunteers is essential and significant on both individual and community levels. Volunteers are integrated into various rehabilitation programs operated by the Amuta, creating a bridge between the person with special needs into “normative” society, enriching their world and environment while assisting Chimes Israel, as an organization, to provide more to promote and improve the quality of life.
Alongside their work directly with the people with special needs, we see the volunteers as ambassadors to the community at large to “break the stigma”, reduce the ignorance and create an opening for those with special needs to integrate into all aspects of society – employment, leisure, education and housing.
Chimes Israel currently boasts over 150 volunteers – from youngsters and college students to senior citizens – who contribute their precious time and talents on a regular basis.
At Chimes Israel, we believe in finding the most suitable match between the type of help the volunteers can provide to the needs of the organization. This allows anyone who would like to volunteer, to find the most appropriate way to give of him/herself.
Chimes Israel is proud to be a member of Impact! Friends of the IDF in the US and Panama Scholarship Program for IDF Combat Soldiers who have completed their military service.
Chimes Israel acknowledges and appreciates all its volunteers in the various programs and is always happy to welcome additional volunteers.
“May we always be on the giving side…”
