Rehabilitative Early Childhood Centers

Early Childhood at Chimes Israel

From the earliest months of life, Chimes Israel ensures that children with disabilities receive the support they need to grow, learn, and thrive. We heavily invest in early intervention because it delivers the greatest impact.

Neuroscience and child development research show that the first years of life are a critical and non-repeatable period for brain development. During this time, children form the cognitive, motor, emotional, and communication foundations that shape their futures. For children with developmental delays and disabilities, timely and consistent early intervention often determines whether these abilities develop at all.

Putting this research into practice, we operate rehabilitative early childhood centers for children ages six months to three years with autism, developmental delays, genetic syndromes, and complex medical conditions. Our centers combine education, therapy, and parental guidance in one setting.

Through early diagnosis, intensive therapy, and uninterrupted care, children build skills that would otherwise be delayed, diminished, or lost. This work changes life trajectories by expanding children’s ability to learn, gain independence, and participate fully throughout their lives.

Setting the National Standard

Chimes Israel pioneered a full-service rehabilitative early childhood model in Israel. We integrate assessment, therapy, education, childcare, and family guidance in one coordinated framework. Families no longer need to navigate multiple clinics, professionals, and systems on their own.

By bringing multidisciplinary teams together around each child, we ensure consistent, continuous care during the most critical developmental years. This nationally recognized model continues to shape best practices in early childhood disability care across Israel.

Our centers

Chimes Israel operates nine rehabilitative early childhood centers across Israel in Ashkelon, Tel Aviv–Jaffa, Holon, Ramat HaSharon, Hod HaSharon, Herzliya, and Modi’in, with multiple centers in Ashkelon and Holon.

The centers operate with funding and professional supervision from Israel’s Ministries of Welfare and Health, in partnership with local authorities, and in full compliance with the Rehabilitation Day Care Centers Law. This structure ensures high professional standards while preserving warm, child-centered environments.

Day Care Centers

The daily experience

Each center functions like a preschool with therapy built into the day. Children engage in play, group learning, meals, rest, and social interaction while receiving individualized therapeutic support.

Parents and multidisciplinary teams create a personalized advancement program for each child. Therapies and paramedical treatments integrate into daily routines whenever possible, reinforcing learning in natural, meaningful contexts.

Professional coordination

Each center works in close coordination with child development clinics, health funds, and welfare services. Professionals align goals, share information, and coordinate care. Families receive comprehensive support rather than fragmented services.

Families

Families play a central role in their child’s development. Parents receive ongoing guidance from educational and paramedical staff, creating continuity between the center and home. This partnership strengthens outcomes and builds confidence in everyday caregiving.

The centers also provide structured support groups for parents, siblings, and grandparents. These groups reduce isolation, strengthen family resilience, and help families better understand and respond to developmental challenges.

Families in Growth

Chimes Israel’s leadership in early childhood intervention extends beyond center-based care through Families in Growth, an innovative home-based program designed to strengthen parental capacity and reinforce therapeutic progress where children live. Through structured home visits led by trained therapists and health professionals, Families in Growth equips parents with practical tools, guidance, and confidence to support their child’s development in daily routines.

The program strengthens caregiving skills, improves family dynamics, and helps create safer, more supportive home environments. Families in Growth serves families connected to our early childhood centers across Israel and has demonstrated meaningful improvements in both child development and family stability.

Our commitment

At the heart of Chimes Israel’s early childhood work is a belief in potential. We see children not as diagnoses, but as individuals with abilities, personalities, and futures worth protecting. We believe families deserve partnership, clarity, and respect. We believe early intervention is one of the most powerful investments a society can make. From the very beginning of life, Chimes Israel works to ensure that children with disabilities receive the support they need to grow, learn, and thrive.

At-risk intervention

While center-based early childhood services provide essential therapeutic and educational support, some families experience ongoing difficulty implementing routines, managing behavior, and sustaining therapeutic goals outside the center. When stability at home deteriorates, children may regress developmentally and families may come under the supervision of social services. In more severe situations, authorities may consider out-of-home placement, including foster care.

Our Families in Growth program addresses these risks through structured home visits led by trained therapists and health professionals. The team works directly with parents to strengthen daily routines, caregiving skills, communication, and emotional regulation, while reinforcing therapeutic goals in the child’s natural environment.  Families in Growth operates solely through charitable donations.
