Vocational Colleges
Academic study combined with real-world training
Chimes Israel operates academic vocational college programs in partnership with recognized academic institutions and professional training bodies. These programs serve young adults with disabilities who have the potential and motivation to integrate into the labor market and are seeking structured preparation for employment.
The colleges combine academic coursework, professional training workshops, and hands-on work experience. This integrated approach allows students to acquire knowledge, develop practical skills, and prepare for stable employment in specific fields aligned with their interests and abilities.
Individualized learning and professional focus
The vocational college combines learning with real workplace exposure. Students participate in courses and training tailored to their learning styles, employment goals, and areas of interest. Academic studies include general foundation subjects such as sociology, psychology, introduction to the world of work, computer and technology skills, and self-advocacy, alongside focused professional training in selected fields. It strengthens employment readiness and increases the likelihood of long-term integration into the labor market in a role that fits each graduate’s preferences and capabilities.
The academic program spans two years. Students attend theoretical classes for two days each week, combined with employment preparation workshops that focus on essential workplace skills such as time management, teamwork, communication, budgeting, and responsibility. The remaining days emphasize academic support and supervised practical work experience in the chosen field, allowing students to apply what they learn in real employment settings.
Leading academic and vocational partners
The program operates in collaboration with leading academic and vocational partners, including Bar-Ilan University, Beit Berl College, and the Culinary College. Areas of study vary according to labor market needs and participant interest, and may include caregiving and elder care, animal care, culinary work, kitchen and food services, early childhood assistance, and administrative and back-office roles.
Certification and job placement
At the completion of the program, graduates receive an official completion certificate. Chimes Israel employment coordinators support graduates in identifying employment opportunities that align with their training and help them with workplace transition. Ongoing support helps graduates integrate successfully into their new roles and sustain employment over time.
